ABC - propaganda

So as I mentioned in the previous post on Friday the 20th I went to O2's ABC (nightclub). The Friday night at ABC is called Propaganda. According to the website it is the UK's biggest indie night, and it is open 11 - 3 am.
From what I can see on the website ABC only does 2 other nights, Jellybaby on a Thursday and Love Music on a Saturday. I have heard really good things about Jellybaby, and I am determined to get there soon. However I haven't really heard so much about Love Music. Anyway onto Propaganda...

The queue was super long when we arrived, which was probably about half 11 but we found a friend quite near the front and so joined her.
This was my first time at a night at ABC, but I have been in buying tickets before. The first thing i noticed was there were quite a lot of stairs, which proved an issue when I was leaving!
Anyway we finally made it up the stairs and the place is HUGE!!! I think it is possibly the biggest dance floor I have seen, however that would make sense as the venue is also used for gigs.
There are different levels to ABC, and I don't think I managed to get to all of them!
When you enter, the dance floor is sort of sunken a bit, so you have to go down a few steps to get to it (I did manage to slid down these stairs at one point in the night!). There is a bar on this level, and a cloakroom, then down a few more steps and there is a much smaller room, with different, quieter, music and another, less busy bar. Another thing about ABC it's ceiling was really high, no risk of anyone banging their head in there!

The music was really good, and EVERYONE was singing along, but then I do like indie music. I would say if you don't like indie music then obviously don't go along! I was a really good night, but I think I prefer a slightly smaller club, or going with a bigger group of friends, as there were only four of us and me and another friend did lose the other two for about half an hour! However we eventually found them and continued out night!

It was a really good night and I would defiantly go back to Propaganda!

What's to come!

Ok so it has been far too long!
I got back to glasgow on Friday the 20th and it is so good to be back!
Here is a quick run-down of what i have done since I have been back:
Friday 20th: Flat party, then O2's abc Propaganda.
Saturday 21st: Flat party, didn't make it out, but some friends went to the Garage and said it was really good.
Tuesday 24th: Strathclyde union and then Kushion.
Thursday 26th: Gorgeous sunrise, pictured here.

Friday 27th: Flat party, then Common.
Sunday 29th: Sport clothes shopping.

I will probably do separate posts on each of these, but just a wee taster of what is to come!
And on another quick note, before I moved to Glasgow I didn't realise that different nightclubs are good on different nights, for example O2's abc is really good on a Thursday night, whereas Kushion is better on a Tuesday. Just something to think about if you are going out in Glasgow, or really any big city!

2012

Ok so I think it has become clear that I am really bad at doing regular posts and my life is not that interesting. I mean there are interesting and exciting bits, but generally it's not drama central.
Anyway I am going to go in a different direction and hopefully it will be more interesting =]

So I decided to go to the University of Strathclyde in the end and moved to Glasgow in September.
I love Glasgow already and being back in my hometown just isn't the same, I like seeing all my friends and family again, but as a city I prefer Glasgow.
One of my new years resolutions is to explore Glasgow more, I have found my way around the area I live in but not much else, so I thought as I explore the largest city in Scotland, I would share my finds and experiences here!

It might be a bit quiet for the next few weeks as I won't be in Glasgow much, but after that it should pick up.

Hope you enjoy what's to come!

Week starting 25th April

Monday 25th April
Today I drove all the way to my granny's =] Its about an hour drive, with mum driving, but for me it was an hour and a half =] haha slow driver!
I saw my two of my great aunties as well as my granny and granda.
Then I came home, had maths tutoring and had tea.

Tuesday 26th April
I had a cello lesson and then did some revision for my computing nab.
Then I went babysitting and tried to revise, but failed haha.

Wednesday 27th April
Not much happened I did my computing nab and got 29 out of 30 =]
I went to tesco in search of bikinis and didn't find anything much, so I came home and spent £50 on H&M.com =/ oops. But I will hopefully be returning a few things!

Thursday 28th April
Today was our 2nd and last day at school this week and it was pretty nice. It was soo sunny that during my free periods I went sunbathing with my friends =]

At lunchtime the teachers came to see our computing projects and have a go. After lunch our computing class got to go outside, for some more sunbathing.

On Thursday evening I went out with one of my friends, it was meant to be more, but the rest cancelled so we met up with some other friends and has a really good night =]

However I have to stop booking driving lessons on Fridays as I never get to make the most of cheap Thursdays =[ haha. I ended up going home early, well half one, as me and my friend were really tired and I had to get up early the next day for driving =/

Friday 29th April
I had a driving lesson at 9 in the morning =[ - bad planning by me! And then...
Royal wedding madness! I have to admit I did get quite excited at the whole build up of the royal wedding. =]

I watched a bit before the service, and thought Kate's dress was lovely, not what I had expected, but the more I see it the more I love it =]

I ended up falling asleep during the service and decided to go for a nap. I then had lunch and went to meet my friend in town, for a little shopping spree =], I actually managed to not buy anything, but the bank was closed and I was still feeling a bit guilty about spending so much on Wednesday night =/.

Then we met another of my friends and looked for a prom dress, quickly. Then she went away and I met another friend and we went to the gym together and saw Prine William drive the mustang. We both agreed it was really cute, especially the number plate on the back =]

I came home and was super tired, and I felt a bit ill, I think I overdid it at the gym. But I felt better after having pizza while watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.
Busy day =]

Saturday 30th April
Today I started my job hunt in a big way, I printed out my CV and went to about 20 different shops looking for a job. There was not much to offer and I only ended up handing out 3 CVs but I did get 2 application forms and some places said to apply online, so there is still hope =]

Sunday 1st May
Today I did a practice maths nab (a nab is just an end of unit test for anyone that didn't know). I cleared out a drawer, well partially, there are still bags in there that I don't think I will use, but I can't let go of yet, but I think I got rid of quite a bit of accesories anyway, here is a photo =]

I then took on my massive pile of ironing. I was thinking about it and I don't think I have ironed in the whole of the month of April, haha. Anyway it took about an hour and a half =].

All in all it has been a pretty good week, considering I only had two days in school =]
What have you been doing in your long weekend(s)? Did you watch the royal wedding and how did you celebrate?

Even Longer!

Hey guys, it has been even longer than I promised =[ sorry. I think this is dues to a mixture of me being busy and procrastination =/.
Anyway as promised I will tell you all the important things that happened to me since I last posted =] here we go...
6th March
I think I just revised, because my computing prelim was the next day.

7th March
I sat my computing prelim which was ok but I felt like I started to run out of time. Thankfully our examiner gave us a half hour warning before the end so I started to write like crazy. I came out and my hand was literally covered in ink but it all washes off easily =]
I then started packing for London.

8th March
I went to the performing arts festival in my town. Usually this is a really long day, but this year it was rearranged so it wasn't as long. I performed in my school string and full orchestra and the local youth orchestra. One of my school orchestras one, however since it was so long ago I can't remember which one =/. The youth orchestra wasn't in competition. It was a good day and not as crazy as it sometimes is. It was a bit crazy for me though, because I ended up coming home and packing for London.

Too Long!

It has been far too long since I last blogged! =/ I have been crazy busy though! I think I will do little chunks of what I have been up to. I went to London from the 9th - 12th of March so I think I will do a blog post for before, during and after London.
Sorry it has been so long, I will definitely post at the weekend, but I am still super busy!

Saturday, 5 March 2011

Oh Dear

I am really sorry it has been so long since I have posted, this week has been pretty crazy.
I will give you a quick run down of what has been happening, as quickly as possible!

Tuesday
I got up, did some revision and then drove, with my mum to the hairdressers for an appointment at 110, I then came home, had lunch, did more revision and then went up to school for orchestra. Then came home, did more revision and then went to maths tutoring after that. Quite a busy day.

Wednesday
Wednesday was an early start because I was going to the Edinburgh University School of Engineering open day.
In case anyone was wondering I am planning on going to university in September to do computing and electronics (different course have different names but that is basically what each of the course are). I have whittled my five choices down to 3, so now it's just choosing which university I am going to go to! Which is why I went to Edinburgh on Wednesday. It was a really well organized day and it was good to see around. It started with a tour of Edinburgh, which was really good, I don't really know Edinburgh that well!
I got quite a late train home so I ended up getting in just after 7 and by that point I was really tired and I just did some sewing.

Thursday
On Thursday I had an eye test, which went fine, I don't need glasses. I then did a tiny bit of shopping and just picked up a few things, then I went and paid off my holiday. Exciting stuff, I am going to Kos this summer with my friends.
Then I came home and revised for the rest of the day.

Friday
On Friday I did some revision, had maths tutor and a driving lesson, then I helped out at youth group and came home, not too exciting.

Today
Today I have really just revised all day, my next exam is Monday so lots of revising happening this weekend!
I did do a bit of playing around with make-up.
Last night mum and dad had fajitas so there was some rice and chicken left over. I took a tip from Nigella, put some in 2 wraps and put them under the grill for a bit... yum!
Here is a photo =]

I think that was pretty much the highlight of my day haha.
Sorry it has been so long.
What have you been up to this week?
Do you like me doing a weekly summary or do you prefer a daily update? Let me know, I don't mind doing either.
