Crazy Monday

Well today was my first prelim and I am really glad that it is done and out of the way. It wasn't too bad, after a weekend of cramming I wouldn't be pleased if I couldn't do any of it. The theory part was ok, and I don't think there were any disasters there. You can basically learn it off by heart. The drawing was more difficult but I had looked at some past papers and two of them I had looked at came up so I knew what they were meant to look like. All in all not as bad as I thought it would be on Thursday! Then I came home, had lunch, practiced cello and then went to my cello lesson. Then mum went to the hospital to visit a friend and I waited in the car. Then I came home had tea and went off to orchestra.
That was my day, maybe not crazy, crazy, but pretty busy!
What did you do today? Has anyone else got exams just now?

Another day of revision

Well yesterday has pretty much been the same as yesterday, but I have done even more revision today than yesterday. I have been doing some drawing which failed =[ and some theory which is starting make more sence =]. I have a way of not getting too bored when I revise which is doing 45 minutes of revision and then have a 15 minute break. Obviously at mealtimes I have a longer break but that generally works for me. I have honestly lost count of how many hours I have done this for today but it feels like a lot!
I am so glad that graph comm is my first exam as it gets it out of the way.
Here are pictures of the two places I am working today. One word: Carnage!
What is your studying technique? Do you also like to scatter paper everywhere?

Uneventful

Today has been pretty uneventful, I have just been studying and practicing cello. That is it.
I have been doing graph comm revision and in case you are interested this is what I drew, it is in no way perfect. If you want to see what it should look like go to page 8 of this document.

What did you do today?

Study Leave!

Yesterday was the first day of study leave for our prelims. I went to bed at about 3 and got up just before 10, so I was tired because of the late night but not too bad. I ended up going into school because in our graph comm exam on Monday we have to do technical drawings, but I don't know how to do them all, so I went in to try to find out. I left school at 1, came home home had lunch and then had a driving lesson at 2. Driving wasn't too bad this week, I just forgot little things, like starting at traffic lights, I didn't put on enough power. Then I went to the bank to get some cash and came home. I just chilled out then went to help at youth group at church. The kids were crazy last night, I think it was partly because I was quite tired by then. Then I went babysitting and watched E.T. I have never seen it before and I thought it was really cute =]. I finished babysitting at about half 11 then came home watched some TV and went to bad about half 12, so another late night. =/ maybe tonight I will get to bed earlier.
Have you seen E.T.? What do you think of it?

p.s. in case anyone was wondering I am not going to T in the Park, Friday, 25th Febuary, was the last day to buy tickets =[ oh well, I can't really afford it anyway.

Thursday Evening

This is the one I gave my friend
Well all went to plan. I went to maths tutor at my friends house and then we went and got ready =]
Maths tutor finished at about half 8, so we started getting ready at about quarter to 9. My friend opened her present and really liked it, she saw mine and really liked it, it looks just like a cushion, and originally I made it as a pin cushion, but I keep my earrings in it, pictures below.

Here is mine filled with earrings
I also gave here so bracelets and rose wine. So we cracked open the rose wine and started getting ready, then my other friend came along and she had also brought rose, sorry there isn't that fancy e, but I can't find it =/. So we split the two bottles between us, got ready and headed out, by the time we got the bus into town it was about 20 past 11. We went and got some more drinks at a pub where we met some guys. One of them had been cheated on by his girlfriend and was all shy and quiet so I gave him my number, but it was really just out of sympathy. Then the three of us went to a nightclub, where we met the guys again. We also met some other guys, but they were pretty old, as in 27, now that's not old but when I am 18 and one of the asked for my number, it wasn't going to happen. By the time I am 27 I hope to be settling down and starting a family. Anyway it was a good night, and because it was a Thursday it was super cheap! I got hope about quarter to 3 and was super hungry!
What do you think of ages in dating? Does it matter if there is a connection or is it still wrong if you date someone half your age?

A bit of everything

Today started like every morning with paired reading. This is where we are all given a child who can't read well and we sit and read with them for 10 minutes at the start of school each day. It is always a battle to try to get mine to read but today wasn't as difficult as usual, which is a small victory in itself!
The rest of the day was filled with orchestra rehearsals and a maths lesson.
Tonight I have a maths tutor at my friends house and then we are going out for her birthday =]

Stress City

Well I didn't post yesterday, but yesterday was so stressful I didn't really want to relay it all, but I will give it a go.
I should explain that our prelims (mock exams) are starting on Monday. Well the first class of my day was computing, and we were doing revision, not too bad but I was slowly realising how little I knew =/. Then at the end of the lesson our teacher reminded us that we need to have our sixth year projects working for today. I had completely forgotten and panicked because I didn't remember how much I had done. I then decided I would just do a bit of it in the library in my free period. Then I had graph comm, there are three drawings in our prelim and we were told that we only knew how to do two =/ not good. There is also a theory side to the prelim and we haven't really looked at any of the theory behind it, the exam is on Monday! Then it was my free period and I went to the library only to find out that because of the new network the programming software wasn't available and I would have to do it at home. In my next free period I went to graph comm to practice drawing, I then did maths at lunch, had double maths and came home.
At home my friend phoned me and we figured out how to make our computer projects work, I then went to my exercise class, body jam, then went to asdas to pick up the rest of my friends birthday present, the one I was on the phone to.
By the time I got home it was about 9 and I was super tired.
How do you deal with stress?

Long Day

Well today has been a long day! I got up early this morning to look after some neighbors children and take them up to school, which was a bit crazy considering there was five of them but, I managed =].
Children are so funny, I love how they don't particularly worry about what people think of them.
Anyway then I went to school.
On a tuesday I have triple free first thing so first period I was helping in computing. Our school network has just been drastically changed, including everyones passwords and logins being changed so I was helping some third years get logged on. Then I pretty much spent the rest of my free periods waiting for and looking at the T in the Park line up. I can't decide if I want to go or not, but I need to decide soon because the last tickets go on sale on Friday =/.
Then It was just computing and graph comm with orchestra inbetween and afterwards, not particularly interesting.
After tea I started making my friends birthday present, I will probably put a picture up on Friday, as that is here birthday and she will have opened it by then =]
That pretty much took up my whole evening so now it is bed time, thank goodness!
What do you think of the T in the Park line up? Are you going?

Almost Forgot!

Oh dear, I almost forgot to blog today =/ as you can see this blogging thing is going really well! =/
Today was pretty uneventful.
I went to school, talked about the weekend, went to a cello lesson, did a quick present shop, came home, had tea, went to orchestra and that was it. Just a usual Monday really.
However I did realise today that it is only a week until my first prelim and I am really not ready for it!
Hopefully this week at school will help me out with that a bit =]

Oh the pain!

Yes that's right after yesterdays trip to the gym there are muscles in my legs, which I didn't know I had, that are burning!
Today has been a quiet enough day that it hasn't really mattered.
I went to church this morning, had a nap this afternoon, followed by cello practice and sorting out my Duke of Edinburgh movie.
This evening I plan to do some homework, have a shower and an early night. =]
A nice slow Sunday, after last night.
Last night was really good, there was about 12 of us at my friends house, all in different states of drunkenness from our stone cold sober designated drivers to so drunk you have no idea how drunk you are! I was somewhere in the middle and feel that was the best place to be. No headaches this morning for me, just feeling a bit tired from a few late nights in a row!
What have you been doing over the weekend?

Gym Again

Well I today has been a slower day, but I just came back from the gym an hour ago and my legs already hurt!
Today I was at the gym for a new program, I am going on holiday in the summer and the aim is to tone! =]
Well toning was done today! But I always feel like it was a good workout when it hurts =]
Tonight I am off out to another friends.
Ahhh long weekends are the best!
Is anyone else trying to tone for summer, how is it going and what are you doing?

Busy day

Of course this was joining to happen, my daily blog post was going to be missed for a day, I just didn't really expect it to happen on the second day of my new blog, oh dear.
Oh well yesterday was pretty busy.
In the morning I did some computing revision, I then had a driving lesson at 2 which was, interesting. There is a new part to the driving test called independent driving, where the assessor gives you a set of directions and you follow them and keep on driving unit they tell you to stop. Well the first few instructions were fine, just a few silly minor errors, but when we got to the next set of instructions, I took the wrong lane at a big round about, panicked and ended up in two lanes at once.
My instructor then informed me that that would have been a complete fail, if it had been my test =/ not good. I then ended up going too fast and panicked again. All in all an eventful lesson, but I came out in one piece and went shopping =]. There might be a haul on my other blog and I will leave the link below.
Then I went to a friends house for an enchilada night which was really good fun. Then my friend Jenni came and stayed over.
It was a good day =]
In case any of you are wondering I am in full time education, but we have in-service days at the moment =]
Is anyone else learning to drive? How is it going? If you already know how to drive how easy did you find it?

Procrastination

Yep, today I have been putting off revising as much as possible, bad move.
Prelims are in about a week and I really need to revise.
Anyway this morning I had a personal trainer session as part of a birthday promotion at the gym. I'm going to hurt tomorrow!
I am going back to the gym on Saturday to get a program made, so hopefully this is the start of going to the gym more than once a week!
I came home and was planning to revise this afternoon but I didn't really get that much done, oh well I guess there is always tomorrow.
Do you get easily distracted when you try to study and how do you avoid this?

Introduction

Hello
I am Rachel, I am 18 and live in Scotland.
This is my last year at high school and later this year (September) I will be moving on to the next stage, university.
To me I see the year ahead being pretty important, and possibly life changing, I just want to document it all, so that in years to come I can look back and remember everything that happened.
I hope you enjoy following my life and journey.
